Lorna on Loneliness
It is not just something that affects the elderly or someone who lives alone. You can be in a house or an environment with a number of people but still feel lonely.
The Oxford dictionary gives a definition of lonely as cut off from others and being without company.
Words like single, solitary, solo, alone, lone, lonesome and unaccompanied.
These are some of the words that describe loneliness.
Do we take time as we walk along the street to acknowledge the person who passes next to us? Giving someone the time of the day takes only a couple of words.
Those words or that smile maybe the only human contact that the individual may have for the day or the week.
Let us make it a point of greeting each other as we bustle along with our busy lifestyles.
Good day to all. Enjoy the rest of your week.
