SGRA Projects

The SGRA is involved in a number of community focussed projects across Swanscombe and Greenhithe, below are some of the main ones.

  • Galley Hill Collapse

We are actively involved with KCC in trying to restore the A226 at Galley Hill. We hold regular public consultation meetings so that residents can be updated on progress by the lead KCC Officer and air their views

  • Lorry Watch

Liz Wickham leads a team of residents holding regular vigils to record the details of HGV’s ignoring the 7.5ton limit in Swanscombe. This information is passed to the Police. We also contact the firms directly. Lets us know if you want to be involved.

  • Swanscombe Station

We are lobbying Network Rail to improve accessibility at Swanscombe Station. This includes resolving the large “Mind the Gap” issue on Platform 1 and providing lifts from the road to the platform.

  • Neighbourhood Watch

Following  concerns from residents , we have helped set up a number of Neighbourhood Watches across Greenhithe and have already seen a reduction in antisocial behaviour in some areas. Please get in touch if you would like to be involved or need one set up in your local area.

  • Community Speedwatch

The SGRA can help residents set up a Community Speed Watch, which is a scheme that helps to control the problem locally and raise awareness of the dangers of speeding traffic.

  • GP Surgery Consultations

Following concerns from residents the SGRA has begun holding regular consultations with local GP Surgeries. We welcome residents opinions, comments and suggestions - tell us your concerns and we will try and get you an answer.

  • Ask Arriva

How’s that Click service working out? We welcome residents opinions, comments and suggestions - let us know your views on our local bus service and we will put them to Arriva at one of our regular consultations.

  • Let Swansome and Greenhithe Breathe

Sick of the state of our air? So are we! Partnering with local campaigns the SGRA is calling for the air quality in our area to be accurately monitored and improved.

  • Proposed London Resort

As an interested party the SGRA regularly attend the meetings hosted by the London Resort regarding their planning application for the peninsula. We welcome residents opinions, comments and suggestions - tell us your questions and we will try and get you an answer.
